Megan’s Inspirational Easel
Megan’s comments: Once Alicia and Kelly had set up in our suite at Leisure Isle Lodge the pampering began in earnest; what fun sipping champagne and getting hair and make-up done with my bridesmaids, my mom, Jason’s mom, my beautiful niece Taylor and nephew Daniel, the room filled with excitement. Time though had simply flown by and there was quite a bit of frantic rushing going on at this stage, nothing however that a little champagne couldn’t fix. Next stop the beach – in the howling wind – for photographs before leaving for the church.
Driving to the church was one of the most special moments of my day, with Alessio driving us we listened to Going to the Chapel and then my father caught me completely off guard by singing Ave Maria to me – what moving moments!
When I got to the aisle and saw Jason I simply burst into tears, overwhelmed by such a flood of joy and happiness, I couldn’t believe that I was about to marry the man of my dreams in the same church where my parents had taken their vows 36 years ago… I felt like the princess in a fairytale!
We could not have asked for a more wonderful priest to perform our marriage ceremony than Rev. Pam Berning; she reinforced all the reasons why Jason and I were so perfect for each other, we truly were blessed to have her perform our wedding service. She even went on to acknowledge my parents, an especially heartwarming moment for them and me.
Next off to have our photographs taken down on the beach which was quite magical, sipping champagne while watching the sunset – PERFECT – and I even got to enjoy my husband for a little while!
Time for us to kick off the Reception – Jason and I had decided on Forever by Chris Brown as our entrance song and it seemed we could not have made a more appropriate choice. It really got the party started and set the tone for our entire reception – party time!
Our first dance to Al Green’s Let’s Stay Together was yet another special moment, we had not rehearsed for our first dance and looking back I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way – we had an absolute celebration on that dance floor…
I just want to advise any bride-to-be that she needs to get married somewhere not too far from the Garden Route just so that Marius can be there. (Marius, you are amazing!) Marius is a perfectionist and he will make sure that your wedding day is indeed that enchanted day of your dreams. Planning my wedding with Marius was almost as much fun as the day itself, there were regular emails, exchanging of pictures and ideas and we were treated to the most wonderful wine tasting at the Noetzie Castle with my parents.
A big thank you also to Joe, Norbet and the Pezula team including the chefs; everything from the venue, to the food, to the drinks, to the service, was impeccable. Then thanks to DP, Clare, Liza, Dieter, Elsje, Alicia and Kelly and everyone else involved – you made our day that much more perfect.
But mostly thanks to Marius for sourcing all the wonderful service providers and for organising every minute detail, it would not have been as wonderful, or organised, without him.
