Kari’s comments: The entire day couldn’t have been more efficiently run, or more beautifully, there was not one thing that could have ruined the day for us – it was truly the best day of our lives. The positioning of the service was perfect, we had an extra long aisle which was awesome for all of us to walk down, the flowers beautiful, the setting perfect, the content of the service inspirational for us and the congregation and – it didn’t rain! The drinks round the pool were a highlight for everyone, the jazz band really set the tone, and we had the most beautiful light shining through dramatic skies. Kurland Hotel is such an exquisite venue – the grounds, the interior décor, the setting – we are so fortunate that we could share this with our guests. The snacks also were delicious; at 3am we were wishing we had plates full of them!

Our photos came out beautifully, they are very special indeed and so numerous that it’s almost impossible to choose which to frame! Annelize surely is a master with her camera!

Many guests told us that a personal highlight was driving to the reception and seeing the reflection of the sun setting on the lake with the view of the marquee, glowing with candlelight, up on the bank above the polo field.

The marquee looked magnificent, better than I could ever have imagined, even more beautiful than any I have seen in print; the attention to detail, the atmosphere, the warmth, all the candles, the layout … it was quite, quite beautiful. Pippa arranged splendid, vibrant flowers, adding such colour and class to our reception. The feast table looked gorgeous – such a good idea, a feast for the eyes too as guests arrived, boasting platters of cake, cheeses and sweets. The cake, well many people didn’t leave the table until 6 tiers of cake had been reduced to crumbs! And having the sweets for people to pick from, a clever idea too! The food was delicious and beautifully presented – many said one of the tenderest cuts of meat they had ever enjoyed.

Walking into our reception has got to be a highlight of the entire day for us. Seeing the faces of all the people closest in our lives, the warmth, the venue suddenly come to life, all the work we’d put into it – it was buzzing, and everyone on such a high! Our first song lasted all night, the dance floor crammed from our first dance until 2am!
